Update: Autumn, 2023

Our Paraguay-native pup Daisy is settling in in Georgia

What have the Zubers been up to?

In April we went onto Leave of Absence from Alliance international work. Stephen worked at Heritage Prep School in Atlanta for a few weeks in the spring designing a new Biology class for the school, while the family prepared to move. At the end of June we moved as a family to Clarkston, GA. In August Stephen began teaching science and logic at HPS, where Anna Belle and Grace are also attending. Simeon began a new homeschooling program, which has been going well. During this time we have been connecting with a variety of doctors in a variety of specialized fields, and have been receiving good care.

We have enjoyed living in the very diverse town of Clarkston, home to refugees and people from all over. This fall a "Round the World" fun run went down our street, and we were happy to both participate and hang a flag to represent Paraguay. We have begun attending church at First Alliance in Atlanta.

Just recently Sarah has been hired to teach ESL classes half-time at a public college in town. It was a blessing to find a job that she can do while continuing to help Simeon with his homeschooling. Although it is taking a while for everything to get processed (as is often the case for public jobs), it seems to be a great fit and a good opportunity to connect with the community.

While we are definitely still "settling in" rather than "settled in", we are grateful to God for His provision for us so far, for the community we have begun to discover, and for the opportunity to continue doing meaningful work. We greatly value and welcome your continued prayers for our family, and continue to pray for our dear friends in Paraguay, Maryland and beyond.

Below are some pictures of our family from the past few months.
