The kids were so excited to see this literal silver lining. They had thought it was just an idiom, not a real thing.

Updates

The Short Version: We have had good doctors' appointments, but have not had a game-changing breakthrough for Simmy yet. Thanks to the internet and global stay-at-home orders, this month we will be continuing our classes in Costa Rica while the kids attend school in Paraguay, while living in Louisiana. We have a place to live while we are here.

Life has continued at breakneck pace over the past 6 weeks. We have gone to a couple of doctors and begun new treatment for Simmy. He is definitely doing better than he was when we left Costa Rica, but he still has a ways to go before he will be back to 100%. Thank you so much for praying for him! Please keep praying for his full recovery.

Because of this and because the borders to Paraguay (our final destination) remain closed, we will be here in Baton Rouge at least until the borders reopen. We have been staying in a mission house, which has been a great blessing for our family. We are also blessed to have been given the opportunity to rent a home starting in July with a good location and large enough for our family, within our budget. This combination is basically impossible in our area, and we have received it as an answer to prayer.

We are half-way through our third trimester of language studies, which runs through August. The kids have completed their school year at Sojourn (in Costa Rica)! We expect them to begin their next school year at a school in Paraguay (over the internet) very soon (they will get their summer break in November).

The past few months have been hard, but God has consistently provided for us every time we have had a need. We have been alone at home, but we have been connected to the Body of Christ in new and many ways. God is good.

Thank you for praying for us!
